Reset Souls

Supposed you're knee-deep in the Rift game and having so much fun with your character but you're only quickly realizing that in order to be more effective at the tasks you want to do, you would rather drop one of your off souls and replace it with another one... Is this possible and if so, how does one go about doing it?
As it turns out, Rift does have a couple of options available for players tired of looking at themselves in the mirror clad in the chain mail and armor plate of a Paladin and would rather pick-up something else with it. This is the Rift Reset soul’s option which is available to all players who have managed to gather all the souls for their class. For purposes of transparency, the only souls in play are those from the eight main soul options so you can forget having to gain your PvP souls via Favor and Prestige Points later on in the game.
The way to do it is to find a class trainer nearby and choose your options accordingly. A class trainer is an NPC that gives you to options; 1) you can reset your soul build or 2) purchase a new role. Purchasing a new role will allow you to build a new role from scratch using the exact allocation points that you have and you can change roles outside of combat in preparation for a major task. Should you happen to love Beast master-Champion, for example, but would want to ditch the Void Knight in favor of Reaver, you can simply make a new role with the build centered on Beast master-Champion-Reaver although for practical and obvious reasons, this might not be a good idea.
A more acceptable idea is using the Rift Reset souls. From the same NPC, you can reset the souls to put everything back to zero so you can re-build appropriately. The main pre-condition for Rift Reset souls is that the soul to be replaced must have zero allocation points on the Soul Tree. When reset, all three souls are scaled back to zero so all are essentially replaceable. Just click the icon to open your list of soul options and start re-building. It also follows that if you are in the middle of a build, you can replace a soul without having to reset if one of your off souls happens to have zero allocation points. Using a typical Warrior leveling build example, the Paladin in a Beastmaster (15) - Champion (51) - Paladin (0) build is replaceable by any other Warrior soul outside of the Rift Reset souls option because it is already set to zero. From here you can pick a Champion (51) - Beastmaster (15) - Reaver (0) combination without spending something.
From the class trainer, the first reset costs nothing but succeeding resets cost gold. Be careful with your decision as to when to reset souls or maintain them so you won't have to waste valuable resources without compromising your flexibility to equip your build. In the end, the best decision is perhaps to purchase a new role so you can switch from DPS to Tank to PvP to Leveling by simply using pre-programmed hot keys rather than buying it from the trainer. Such ease should help you conquer the Planes of Telara without the hassles of a long-trip down trainer alley for a lecture in soul training.
