StarCraft 2 Build Order

Have you been looking for the perfect Star Craft 2 build order? Well, perfection is almost impossible to reach in a SC 2 match because each player is different and thinks differently. However, perfection in a SC 2 build isn't that important. More important is winning.
So, although there is a basic, general Star Craft 2 build order for every race, usually you have to improvise to win. So, here are a few aspects that you want to consider for a solid build.
1. The race of your enemy.
The basic general build order usually works fine in every match, at least for the beginning part. Since building options in this part of a battle are limited, there aren't too many possibilities. However, you must take into consideration the race your opponent is playing and make adjustments. For this you basically have to know the mechanics of every unit that they can throw at you in every stage of the game and are prepared. Of course, assumptions do not work in Star Craft 2. Therefore you deploy some scouts to know what your enemy is cooking.
2. The level of your enemy.
The more advanced is the league you play, the more experienced and sophisticated your opponents will be. Therefore, to have a solid Star Craft 2 build order, you must be prepared for everything. Also, know that cheap and common tricks that work in the Bronze or Silver leagues are too shallow for a wise player. So, be innovative.
3. The type of battle that you want to play.
As I see it, you have 3 choices here:
  • Defensive battle. Where you have to focus on resources and defense, let your enemy attack, but also being able to reject any attack. In this case, it's important to build defensive unit and get defensive upgrades. However, any defense has its weakness and if your opponent is an experienced player, they might just find it. This is just not my kind of battle.
  • Harassment battle. In this case, you must focus on building units that are made for this. Example: the Terran Reapers. Your target is your opponent's workers. Especially if the mineral site is near the base edge, you can even jump uphill to take out the enemy workers, without even being noticed.
  • Offensive battle. Build a balanced army, with upgraded heavy assault units. However, you have to scout your enemy properly and make sure you build the right ones.
Now that you know the fundamentals of a solid Star Craft 2 build order, it's time to learn about the importance of every unit
