We've all been there are at one time or another. You have 2 or 3 hundred crops to harvest before they wither on the vine, but who has the time to sit there and watch while your little Farmer marches around the field, harvesting one plot at a time? You need to find some way to make this Farmville harvest go faster or you'll die of boredom.
It's especially frustrating this summer as Zynga rolls out one Quest after another and nearly every one involves planting at least 100 plots of some type of crop. If you don't have a combine or you're low on fuel you're going to be doing an awful lot of waiting and watching around your Farm this summer.
And it's not just harvesting crops that take up a lot of 'walking' time. Your Farmer has to walk from tree to tree and from animal pen to animal pen. Sure, you can use an Arborist and a Farm Hand, but one if they're not available? What if you just need to click on a lamb on this side of your Farm and click on another lamb over on the other side? Someone needs to show that little Farmer how to work faster!
Well, here's a little tip that WILL help your Farmville harvest go a little faster. All you have to do is trap you’re Farmer! Here's how it works:
Log into your Farmville Farm. If you're currently logged in and you've been playing for a while, exit your Farm and come back again.
When you arrive at your Farm, not the position of your Farmer. He or she will be standing in the exact center of your Farm. This is where you need to set up your trap. At this point, do NOT click on anything on your Farm that will cause your Farmer to move off of that mark.
Now, go to the Market and purchase 8 or 9 inexpensive Hay Bales if you don't already have some lying around. Use those Hay Bales to completely encircle your Farmer's feet, preventing him or her from walking. You can also put a fence behind your farmer or one of your pens or buildings - anything that blocks his exit.
Once you've set up your Hay Bales or other obstacles, click on one of your animals or trees to see if your Farmer can escape. If he stays within the circle you created then you've succeeded in setting up your Farmville farm so you can harvest faster.
Now that server doesn't have to move your little Farmer all over the Farm, all it really has to concentrate on is performing the tasks as you give each of them a click. For example, instead of having to plot a course for your Farmer to move from one side of the Farm to the other, now all it has to do is take care of harvesting each tree you click on, or each animal or plot. You've eliminated the middle man by trapping your Farmer in the middle of your Farm and now your harvesting will be much faster.
